Surfboard Shaping Workshops

Available June 1st - September 30th

$300 + the cost of your blank

There is nothing like riding a board you shaped yourself.

If you’ve ever wanted to shape your own surfboard and didn’t know where to start or didn’t want to invest in the tools/space, I'm opening up my workshop for 1-on-1 shaping sessions this summer.

I’ll help you design your board and work through each step of the shaping process with you, ensuring you avoid common pitfalls and end up with a board you’ll enjoy riding for years to come at the end of it.

We can make just about anything you can dream up — no prior experience required!

How it works:

  1. Get in touch using the form on this page. Then, we’ll talk through the board you want to make, I’ll provide a cost estimate + payment link, and we’ll schedule a time to shape it together.

  2. Guided Shaping Session (3-5 hours). I’ll show you how to use the tools (included), how to think through your design in real time and extract it from the blank, plus how to avoid common mistakes along the way.

  3. Glassing (extra). I can glass your finished shape for you or you can take it home and give it a go yourself. Glassing workshops are available on a limited basis, as the glassing process cannot be completed in a single session (1 week on average, working on it every day).

More than a Shaping Lesson

In addition to the board you make, you’ll also walk away from the experience with a clear understanding of why surfboards work the way they do, and how changing specific design elements (rocker, rails, foil, etc.) will affect the way a board performs and feels in the water.

You’ll never look at surfboards the same way again!
